What our customers ask us most
What does cold-extracted, unheated honey mean?
We spin the honey out of the comb in a centrifuge, without heating it during extraction or bottling. That way it stays just as the bees left it in the hive, with the aroma of the flowers it came from.
Why does honey crystallise, and how do I make it runny again?
Crystallisation is a natural process in real honey and doesn't mean it's gone off. If you want it runny, stand the open jar in a bowl of warm (not hot) water and stir now and then until the crystals dissolve. Don't put it on the stove or in the microwave, or it will lose its goodness.
Why does acacia honey stay liquid for so long?
Acacia honey naturally contains more fructose than glucose, and fructose doesn't crystallise easily. That's why it stays clear and runny much longer than other kinds.
What is honeydew honey?
Honeydew honey doesn't come from flower nectar but from sweet secretions the bees collect from tree leaves and bark. It's dark, less sweet and rich in minerals.
How do I store raw pollen and royal jelly?
We keep raw pollen in the freezer, never dried, and we recommend you do the same once it arrives. Royal jelly should be kept cold, in the fridge or freezer, tightly sealed.
How do I use propolis tincture?
The tincture is propolis from our hives, steeped in food-grade alcohol. It's usually taken as a few drops in a spoonful of honey or a glass of water. If you're allergic to bee products or on medication, check with your doctor first.
